May 30, 2019: Going dark on dark energy and matter with Jeffrey Salazar part 1

Evening science peeps, I had the opportunity to finally scratch an itch of interviewing someone  in astronomy. I’m very happy to bring to you guys my interview with Jeffrey Salazar! He is a first generation Mexican/Guatemalan PhD student in the Department of Physics and Astronomy, working under Dr. Simona Murgia and is a part of the Large Synoptic Survey Telescope astronomy collaboration. Here are some complementary links to the topics that we talked about:

Charge-couple devices, how do they work?

What is the brighter-fatter effect?

How are telescope images compiled to create the pretty images that we see?

The upcoming James Webb telescope.

Gravitational lensing.

LSST Dark Energy Science Collaboration

The Dark Energy and Dark Matter enigma

You can also hear the full unedited version below! Tune in next week for the second part of my interview with Jeff and as always, stay curious!

Here is the full recording of the interview!
